Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis

Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis falls in the same category of illnesses called autoimmune system disorders, as of the rheumatoid arthritis and resembles with it in the symptoms too, but the basic difference it has is, it is marked with the absence of rheumatoid factor. It includes avocados, fish like salmon, sardines or herrings, green leafy veggies, walnuts, tofu, soy milk, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, whole grains like brown rice and millet, wheat grass and seaweed. Sugar, alcohol, dairy products and heavily processed foods should be minimized. Spices like turmeric and ginger too work best in reducing pain and inflammation when included in diet. What's more, ginger oil can be applied to the inflamed joint to get pain relief and improvement in movement over a period of time.

As there is no definite cure for the disease, the patient has to live happily with it and he or she can do so by adopting such proper diet and exercise routine. Inflammatory symptoms are greatly reduced when citrus fruits, wheat, soy, sugar and dairy products are eliminated from the diet.

Low impact aerobic exercises like walking, swimming and biking are advised to rheumatoid arthritis patients. Strength-building exercises also can be done on alternate days. These exercises improve the quality of life with the disease by enhancing the range of motion, flexibility and pain relieving abilities.

It is advisable to do a five minutes warm-up before starting the exercise. You can walk briskly so that the blood starts flowing fast and reduce the chances of trauma. The patient should consult with the physiotherapist to incorporate such exercises well in the daily routine. If proper medication, diet and exercise are administered, it is not difficult to deal with Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.
